Our raid

Off the usual ski-pulka tourist circuits, our raid has been designed first and foremost to bring you pleasure, relaxation and escape; but also as a true theoretical and practical introduction to self-sufficient polar expeditions. After a day of preparation and briefing, throughout the week we will tackle the essential notions that are indispensable to anyone wishing to venture into this wonderful environment. The educational aim of the week is to build up your skills and help you progress on the notions of the polar environment, preparation, orientation, group travel and the famous business of managing the camp. At a pace of 15 to 20 kilometres a day, our French-speaking polar guide will know how to introduce you to magnificent landscapes without losing sight of the rigour to be adopted in these polar environments.

The magic of Lake Inari in Finland

It is in this enchanting setting, a blend of icy water and magical landscapes, that we will first get to know the other participants and prepare ourselves for 5 days of raid that will follow one after another in a magnificent landscape on the edges of Lake Inari. This is the largest lake in Lapland, once a major place of worship for the Sami people. We adopt a slow pace at the start and, very soon, the group will build up momentum and feel the fatigue and emotions of an expedition.

Have you dreamed of admiring the northern lights?

Everyone will learn to organise life under the tent, to rest and sleep in the best conditions in preparation for the following day. While the spectacle is captivating and the atmosphere exceptional, you should not, for all that, forget to take out the camera to immortalise the magical landscapes and to know how to get up in the night to see the show of the northern lights stirring above the tents in psychedelic choreographies.

At the end of the 5 days of expeditions, the routines have become habits, the pace is steady, and everyone has found their place in this soothing world. Here we are, capable of operating independently and taking part in longer, more difficult, more committing expeditions.
