Lancement du podcast Secret Planet

Pioneers in our sector in the production of web conferences, backed by a community of enthusiasts on our YouTube channel, on the occasion of World Radio Day on February 12, we launched our podcast channel dedicated to the world of adventure and nature travel, trekking, exploration and extreme expeditions. Every two weeks, we invite you to live an experience through immersive reports, grand accounts of great expeditions and in-depth interviews with specialists in a region, a traditional community or a subject on which we are experts. We hope these little audio escapes will delight you.

Why a podcast ?

In 2012, we launched our YouTube channel. Ten years later, with nearly 300 videos, some of which have reached 40000 views, the success is there. On May 4, 2018, pioneers in the world of adventure and nature travel and expeditions, we held our first web conference. Since then, we have organised around fifty of them, and many of you join us at least once a month for this regular appointment. Fans of bivouacs lost in the jungle or the desert, expedition base camps, training during our jogging or cycling sessions, we have long known that podcasts can be a privileged travel companion. It has the advantage of being very accessible and can be taken everywhere, on small everyday adventures as well as the greatest ones in the field. Nearly a year was needed to develop our channel and produce our first episodes.

Three formats to discover:

  • Long-form reports: immersive excursions into a people, a celebration, a subject on which we are experts, or into the heart of a region of the world.
  • Great narratives: extraordinary accounts of travel and adventure, of expeditions that have marked history, ancient or more recent.
  • In-depth interviews: exchanges in interview format with a specialist in a country, a people, a celebration, a species, some of which are drawn directly from our web conferences

« Great narratives - The conquest of Everest part 1 »

After a first episode on the traditional festivals of Bhutan, we invite you to listen to the second, dedicated to the conquest of Everest: June 11, 1938. Eric Shipton, Bill Tillman, Peter Lloyd descend from Camp VI at 8300 meters altitude. The seventh attempt to climb Everest, via the north face, fails once again. Since 1921, British mountaineers, masters of the terrain and without competitors, have thrown all their strength into this ultimate conquest. Courage, selflessness and determination are not enough. The Sherpas, without whom nothing can be done, first simple porters and then inseparable companions at high altitude, participate actively. Two of them become legendary: Ang Tharkay and Tenzing Norgay. A look back at this fantastic adventure, written by Didier Mille and performed by Jean-Michel Asselin.
